I've been building and designing websites for several years now and I have had great luck using hostmonster, and their parent company, bluehost to handle several of my websites.
Imagine this real-life scenario:
You hit the front page of digg.com with this great article -- "How to win big at Blackjack" -- You've spent hours fumbling around, trying to install wordpress, then you spend more time looking for the perfect theme, then you hit the big time -- the article gets published on digg.com, mixx, and slashdot! The traffic floodgates open - everyone is trying to get to your site.

Life is good ... then ...

The shared hosting account your own throttles your bandwidth, and starts giving the readers crazy error messages. The article is effectively down, and large news papers who were going to post links in their columns decide they cant link a site that can't stay up - so they pass. Readers are frustrated. All of your hardwork & time ..., wasted!

I've had it happen - and its a terrible feeling. Squandering to fix the issue, losing traffic by the second ... but you dont have to deal with that if your smart.
